Step 3: Mine the Reviews Like a Professional
Star ratings are the least informative number in the industry, because they are aggregates of careers, not measures of current quality. The actual information lives in the individual reviews, and the way to extract it is to hunt for specificity.
Ignore reviews that say “she was so sweet” — they tell you about warmth, not ability. Hunt for reviews that say “she accurately described my situation without me telling her” or “she named the month and it happened.” Specific claims are checkable; emotional compliments are not. Then sort by recent and read the last ten, because a reader’s current quality is what you are buying, not their career average.
The other review signal is the rebound: how the reader responds to a negative review. A reader who attacks critics in the replies has told you how they will treat you when you disagree with them. A reader who responds with professionalism has told you the same. Both are information, and both are free.
Step 4: Use Trial Minutes as a Test, Not a Reading

Step 5: Judge the First Two Minutes of the Paid Session
